Evaluating Impact of Empagliflozin on Lipid Profile of Patients of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

OBJECTIVES: To assess the effect of two doses, i.e., 10 mg and 25 empagliflozin, on lipid profile patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) suboptimal glycemic control maximal doses metformin sitagliptin. METHODOLOGY: The study design was a randomized, open-label clinical trial. Fifty-nine adult T2DM who were already 2000 Metformin 100 Sitagliptin having glycaemic (HBA1C > 7% <12%) randomly allocated in 1:1 ratio to groups, one group receiving (Group A) other Empagliflozin B) as an additional treatment. Fasting profiles, including total cholesterol (TC), low-density (LDL-C), high-density (HDL-C) triglycerides (TG), taken before 12 weeks after addition empagliflozin both groups. RESULTS: Total A 31, their mean age 51.48±4.29 years. In B, there 28 patients, whose 52.39 ± 5.20 There increase TC, LDL-C HDL-C reduction TG groups treatment but it not statistically significant (p 0.05).
